We haven’t been back since 2005. Only reason we went then was a company paid “conference”. Those were the days, whoo hoo. I digress.
Lost Wages priced themselves out of our comfort zone. When the room rates equaled renting a house on the beach for week, the food costs could have fed our family for several months and it seems like everyone had a hand out for some crazy “service” we just stopped going.
I was thinking about a trip this summer, but it sounds like it may not be worth it. One thing about their struggles, you risk getting a diminished return for your dollar. And I don’t feel like pushing the beggars out of my way walking up and down the strip.
Touring around looking at the houses might be a cheap form of entertainment though. Do they serve food and drink on those buses?
Still love the surrounding area though. A desolate sort of beauty.
