Went shoping at UTC today. Had to fight for a parking spot, and the isles were packed. I bought some clothes and a few other small things, and walked right to the front of the line to pay. I dont know if I was just lucky or what, but I didnt see the usual crazyness there.
Now I went to REI also and it turns out they were haveing some big 20% off alot of shit in the store sale, (something about everything endind in $.79 is 10% off, everything $.89 is 15% off, $.99 is 20% off I think, wasnt really paying attention.) Anyways the line was CRAZY! As in 30+. I have never seen it that long. We walked out without buying anything, it was just insane how long that line was.
The comment from my GF was “well, rich people always have some money to spend.” I think that is what we are seeing, and we tend to forget just how rich San Diego actually is.
