I’m not normally a basketball watcher, but when I saw the overtime game the other night, Kobe’s elbow to the jaw was more ruthless than I can imagine any CEO being. Not the kind of person I want my son looking up to!
Threadkiller, as someone who spends way too much time watching basketball, that elbow wasn’t a big deal, that’s just playoff basketball. Any veteran would have done the same, the defender ran into his space, he never moved his feet and he was wearing a defender from behind, the defender did it on purpose too, and flopped to the ground on purpose, that’s just a strategy. If you had seen the any of the Denver series’ or the Bulls/Celtics series this year (which was the best series I have seen in a decade), you would have vomited and put a blindfold on your kids. I think the bulls celtics games were averaging something like three players needing “in game” sideline stitches from the team doctor, my friends and I were making side wagers regarding flagrant fouls, facial bleeding, stitches, blood cleanup delays and ejections.
Lakers/Orlando was mild as far as most playoffs go, and never let anyone look up to sports stars, especially your kids, it’s entertainment, that’s all.
