Lots of old money in Pt Loma. Older homes, with the exception of all the development down in Liberty Station which was built out in the early 2000 timeframe.
We have had discussions about Pt Loma as it pertains to being a good place with regards to raising kids and quality of schools. Not sure if that is important to you or not.
If not lots of good stuff although there have been on again off again issues with fuel leaks and evironmental issues. Also be aware of the flight path from the airport.
Those items not withstanding, Pt Loma is one of those polarizing areas. I think that people really love it, or not so much at all. I have a few friends that have lived there for a long long time and they swear by it. They love their view of the bay and to them it is “classic san diego”. They are empty nesters and it suits their lifestyle very well.
