This thread made me think about a book I liked called STATUS ANXIETY by de botton. It’s a philosophy book about why status matters so much to us. Why we want love from the world, for emotional rather than purely material reasons. I’m going to skim it on the way to my mother in law’s house and rethink my disturbing emotions on missing out and feeling like a broke fool compared to many peers.
Also I need to stop reading alumni newsletters. I can have plenty of money, a mansion on acreage and still feel …. Impoverished….
