But dude, seriously if you want SD to “entertain” you. Leave. People that live here want to live here and will eventually make SD in a thriving healthy city. I am from the northeast, where the culture you are looking for in a restaurant or actiivties are aplenty. Do I miss them personally, sure I do, but for the lack fo what it has in comparison to SD.
To answer your question. El Indio has the best taquitos, The Shakespeare has all the Brit Expats and Kearny Mesa has the best Asian food. Just get in your car and get lost, you will find something.
