Thats as one of the most naive things I have heard you say. The entire world works that way. Why should real estate be any different? Every Happy Meal has an advertising/sales cost in it for marketing them to the masses many of whom will never buy one.
It constantly amuses me how people expect real estate to be different. The business is not all that different than any other business except for the dollars involved. When I sold enterprise software my commission rates were much higher and I got a salary and benefits..
