The research I’ve done, with my industry access to risk assessment maps show Carlsbad as generally much lower wildfire risk. No place is truly immune from Wildfire in Southern California. It is just the degree of risk that varies.
From my research, South Carlsbad had an voluntary evac only due to smoke in the Fall 2007 wildfires.
I was lucky to have sold my house out east and had my company relocate me out here. Decent relo package but I don’t view myself as rich, perhaps comfortable.
