The problem is the cops lost the respect of the community and it probably all boils down to the original war on drugs. Crack is a hell of a drug that you probably don’t want to make legal but the strong arm tactics the cops used back then started this whole mess. I don’t know that you can restore that respect and trust anymore without a lot of hard work that the cops aren’t really interested in doing.
The other factor is the blatant disregard for the rule of law. There’s just too many high profile instances of people that are above the law. It has to end or these problems just get worse and worse.
