The birth certificate “scandal” is the same as the Bill Clinton “commie sleeper agent” and the George Bush “went AWOL from flight school” stories. These stories have a very specific purpose — they are meant to distract people and get them arguing about some irrelevant detail from long ago THAT DOESN’T MATTER. This keeps the hoi polloi divided and occupied with yelling at each other while the powers that be are picking their pockets.
