Encinitas is wonderful and while I dont particularly care for Encinitas Ranch I understand the appeal it has for others. For young families, I think there are nicer newer planned communities to live in this area like La Costa Oaks, La Costa Valley, Arroyo Vista, Summerwalk, Santa Fe Trails, lower priced parts of Olivenhain etc. If schools are not a primary concern, Aviara, La Costa Greens, The Bay Collection etc would also be ahead on my list.
There just doesnt seem to be a lot of space to run around and be a kid in Encinitas Ranch. I pass through/by it at least once or twice a day and rarely see kids at play there.
