There always has to be a power structure leading others and “confidence” in it to give apparent control of value of the lubricating mechanism for economic activity. It is always temporary. I agree ponzi schemes seem to apply to things we don’t really get indoctrinated into on a societal scale …like we do with something like the federal reserve.
