No apology needed russell, I guess I never put much thought into child care, I used real state to solve that problem a long time ago and bought a house in walking distance to both sets of my kids grandparents (and some people wonder why I live here, that’s the #1 reason). I guess this luxury allows for more time to ponder football and breasts.[/quote]
I am envious of the grandparent thing. My parent’s died when I was a kid and young adult, one each. I would probably not let them do child care anyway, from what I know of them.
My wife’s parents are good to us and the kids but they are not going to relocate for the sake of doing the grandparent thing until they are too old to do it, if at all. They live in a nice place but we don’t want to live there for reasons which include employment.
Sounds like you had a best case scenario for yourself.
I took into consideration my situation and vision for best satisfying my future children’s needs, in combination with the modest material existence that I hoped for out of life, a long time before I had children. It didn’t solve everything but it helps a lot to have done it.
