Or as Josh would say, Phase 1. Just promise me you won’t stay too long in that phase. Gwrtz and Pinot Grigio will eventually evoke nausea, enjoy it while it lasts. Bearishgirl, you are close to my age, it hurts to hear you say that, we gotta get you up here to try something from Phase 2.
TG, I’ve been “stuck” in “Phase 1” all my life, whatever that is. Gewurtraminer, Johannesburg Reisling and more recently, Pinot Grigio and Shiraz. Except for Shiraz, I usually drink them on ice, with a splash of soda or seltzer water (or sometimes two splashes). Never had nausea. Always pay $2 – $4 each (and $6 – $7 during the holidays when I get my fav Wente Bros on sale). Vons usually has great prices!
Don’t do dry wines, hate chard, hate cab, can tolerate merlot, red zinfandel or chablis if its going around the table on a holiday where I will “pretend” to enjoy them.
White zin is my preferrred box (gasp!!) drink. Been drinking this for many, many years (also with a spash). 5 litre boxes are often a great deal at CVS or Rite Aid as well as 3 litre boxes at Albertsons :=D
Don’t drink anything else so I guess you could call me a wine-cooler person . . . :=)
I have a free hotel night I’m going to use to go “crushing” in about a month. We haven’t decided where yet but thinking about Santa Clara Co.
