I’m so tired of hearing that we need illegals to pick strawberries. You know what, I like strawberries but they are already overpriced as hell. Why not import them from Mexico for crying out loud? It would be much cheaper and the illegals could stay in their own country and work where they are more comfortable anyway. The only ones benefitting from the current system are the wealthy owners and corporatations. Am I sounding like Lou Dobbs? Good because Lou is awesome, it’s nice to hear some common sense on the TV once in a while.
one word. NAFTA. we bought it like a bag of magic beans, but it’s not the answer we were looking for.
not to mention… protective trade tariffs and farming subsidies…
