Enter flu’s world….With more cars than I have drive time. I wish i lived in a larger home. I could have a outside shed that can garage different cars I don’t use.
If your civic has a tachometer on it, I can guarantee it’s worth about $60 alone on the street…How do i know?
Some coworker of mine had a civic and parked in an apartment complex (I think it was Rancho Penasquito)…. He came out one day, and noticed someone had slim-jimmed his door open, unscrewed his instrument panel, left the screws and trim pieces nice and neatly on top of the dash…
We were like WTF…He called the dealer. They wanted something like $300/400.. I told him to call a junkyard in el cajon…It wasn’t in the best part of town, so I decided oh wtf I’ll go with him…So we went to the junkyard, and bought one used for $60….We were like WTF to junkyard person…He said “well, wannabe riceboys have civic DX’s without the tachometer. So if they see one, they’ll take them….”
My coworker was pissed. I told him relax. Be thankful the person was courteous enough to open the door properly, unscrew the cluster properly, and even leave all the screws and trim pieces intact.
And that if you look carefully, he might have even wrote you a thank you note….On the other hand, if things were worse, the same dude could have smashed your window, taken a crowbar to your dash and trim just to rip out your cluster, and you would have been looking at a totaled car with all the repair costs..Consider yourself lucky….
Dude moved into his own house with a garage after that. 🙂
