”Obama by far a bigger supporter of social liberty and social freedom than the Republicans.”
Oh, please list what social liberties and freedoms he has advanced?
Guantonimo, still there.
Patriot act, still there, or was it expanded? Definitely renewed.
TSA more intrusive than ever.
Where does Holder’s fast and curious fall?
It’s all relative. Key words in the assertion is “than the Republicans”. Pretty low bar. Repeal of DADT is a good example of one.
Would that be compensated by the mandate of religious organization offering contraception in Obamacare (at least until 9:30AM this morning, after the major backlash)? How many people DADT help vs how many people this mandate would have hurt?
Also, was it Obama or Ron Paul who wants to legalize marijuana? Was it Obama or Ron Paul who thinks internet should be free from government regulation and taxation and is opposed to the internet gambling restrictions and net neutrality legislation? Who was against the patriot act? Who opposes eminent domain? Who’s against affirmative action? Paul voted in the affirmative for HR 5136, an amendment that leads to a full repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”, on May 27, 2010.[144] He subsequently voted for the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Repeal Act of 2010 on December 18, 2010. I can go on, but bottom line is, no, Obama is not by far a bigger supporter of social liberty. If anything, he’s far far less of a supporter of social liberty when you compare him to Ron Paul.
