Seems like there's a lot of food snob around here. I love most food, so I guess I'm a little less hypercritical about chain restaurant. They have their specialties and they hit the right price point. I've been to many Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Persian, etc. places. But I do crave American food too. For the price, Chili's ribs is the best in my eyes. Red Lobster's biscuits are great. Olive Garden's bread stick is great and price is not bad at all. I eat at George's periodically, as well as other more expensive place, but I love variety and you'll either deplete your choices or your wallet if all you go to is places like George's and above. That's just my 2 cents.
Actually AN, when wife and company eat out (rarely), it's usually the small asian places we go or the mexican fast food with the fish tacos… and almost never the American restaurants. For us, we're really not into the sheeeshees restaurant in the likes of LJ or downtown. And the more conventional American restaurants like Red Lobster, Red Robin, etc, frankly the portions are too big for either of us, and neither of us really want to turn into a blimp with all the ge-normous portions…which is great that we're alike in this regards, because we keep our expenses in check. Dining out can be extremely expensive, and I always found it unusual that some folks I know make it a regular event to dine out at LJ or downtown don't blink at the huge expense.
Anyway, for the longest time, Americans have been eating themselves to death. Perhaps with food prices going up, people will no longer be stuffing their faces or super-sizing???? Might not be such a bad thing.
