Uhh, good luck keeping BMW/Audis for 10 years unless you are mechanically inclined or don’t have issues shelling out money on repairs after the 4 years. Also, you essentially are buying a generation 1 of the Z4. The risk of some electrical gremlin is not small considering it’s BMW. Expect to find issues in it. It’s just how it works with these german cars.
After 5 years of ownership, my relative’s 330ic’s ragtop top just stopped working right after the warranty…It seems like the standard repair bill for a BMW after warranty is like $1500 give and take a few hundred… You probably don’t want to keep it longer than 4-5 years….
One other thing minor thing tipping in favor of BMW……BMW includes maintanence for 4 years. Audis I believe no longer do this unless you pay extra. BMW also depreciates less than Audis, though if you do plan on keeping things a long time it doesnt’ really matter.
BTW: wouldn’t it work better for you to lease it and write it off as a business expense?
