Me, too. Worked for and was laid off by a dot.bomb company in late 1999, two days before Christmas. My exit was pretty humiliating and that’s why I Googled and landed on FC. YES! That company was on there.
The FC forums…what a tough crowd. Anything went. Lots of unemployed tech guys. As a tech moron, I got a lot of free technical advice. But I was careful to “post as a dot” and not reveal that I am female. I occasionally commented about other topics and FC taught me how to have a thick skin on ANY message board.
