You actually have a CHOICE to attend LJ High or UC high. Kids attend Torrey Pines Elementary and Muirlands Middle in La JOlla.
It’s considered an OPTIONAL area.
(See http://old.sandi.net/schoolfinder/find_address.asp)
The secondary bedrooms are actually slightly larger than most SFR’s we’ve seen (where they usually are 10 x 10 or 10 x 11). There are 3 FULL baths. The closet of the bedroom downstairs is indeed very tiny.
The garage was indeed a good size, with extra storage too.
It’s a condo not an SFR true. We are debating size & detached vs commute. If we want to stay in LJ school district & ultrashort commute, I doubt we can find anything better. Question is, would we happy enough with the size?[/quote]
Yes, thank you, Scarlett. I saw the current attendance area. I’m certain my friend’s kid didn’t have a choice in the early 90’s. If your kids are young yet, you don’t know if the optional HS attendance choice will still exist when they get there. It depends on enrollment and whether one of the schools becomes impacted at the time your kid is ready to attend 9th grade.
My friend had a 3/2.5. Their third bedroom either had a very tiny closet or none at all as I remember. I do believe their unit was 1500 or 1600 feet but really not sure. All 3 BR’s were upstairs and the secondary rooms WERE like 10×10 and 10×11. Their kitchen, F/R, L/R, front entry, front courtyard and laundry look *exactly* like those in the pics of your link, exc. they lived on Cam. Eastbluff. As I recall, there are at least 400 units in that complex.
The kitchen is VERY SMALL (apt size) and has almost no counter space. Not sure if there is really any way to enlarge it due to plumbing constraints.
As I recall, there was a pool and I think two jacuzzis near my friend’s unit, but there could be another pool area. Also, partying students often late at night on the weekends. Wow, the HOA dues are HIGH now . . . I think my friend paid about $175.
Scarlett, why don’t you go look at it? And also drive through the alleys on Saturday night (to check noise levels). If I had a family as you do, I wouldn’t want a unit like that, but that’s just me.
What happened to those nice large units you were considering in Scripps Ranch?
