Saying Rand Paul winning in Kentucky is a sign of teaparty strength is ridiculous… Kentucky was NEVER going to go to a Dem. Have you been there? (I have family there.)
What amazes me is the media line that this election was all about anti-incumbent candidates. Yet if you google ‘anti incumbent” on the google news search you find a gazillion headlines about how the incumbent won despite the “anti-incumbent” sentiment. Incumbents that ran, for the most part, kept their seats.
The teaparty does not control the house after last night. The old school GOP does. You know the ones that are big on spending. John Boehner is as old school, inside the beltway, hangin’ with the lobbyists as they come.
I watched reporters ask various tea party candidates, last night, if they’d vote against raising the debt ceiling. Not one said they would.
