Rustico, I was following surveyors comment of Americans not reading. My response was a bit longer perhaps even lucid, alas it was lost when I tried to preview and save it for some reason.

Together, reading history and knowing latin only matters if one is reading history in latin. Anyway the part of “to think” was actually to “think for themselves”.
I concur about thinking beyond ones own biases, it’s a topic I’ve raised here occasionally in the few times I felt compelled to post.
However, it is possible to do so, if one truly wants to attempt intellectual integrity. Sadly, many are too lazy or too fearful of doing so.
