Ricechex how do you propose to fund services that we don’t have, and never had the money to pay for?
None of this is new. Every year the budgets have been a sham. Don’t you get it? Even if they somehow by a miracle met the budget, what about next year.
It is simple. The state cannot fund what the state cannot pay for.
How do you think other states do this? Do you think every state in the union has this same problem?
This is not some crime against humanity. This is not some intractable problem. This is the result of years and years of irresponsible spending. Years of incompetent leadership. Years of making social contracts with NOT ANY CLUE as to how they will be paid for. WE WERE PROMISED A BALANCED BUDGET JUST A FEW MONTHS AGO?
Jeez our state applies the SECOND HIGHEST TAXES in the country to state residents and look how f’d up we are.
You have to look no further then our state legislature.
The reality is that only after we cut all the services do we really know what we can actually spend at the state level. Until it is actually done, until we wean ourselves from defiecit spending, this state will never function efficiently. In the long run, it hurts everyone alot worse.
