I’ll second that. I’ve been with Mercury and 21st Century (the two well-known cheap insurers) in the past, and they both raise rates by too much too often (despite maintaining a perfect driving record). So far, I’m very happy with Wawanesa and it costs even less than the other two. I haven’t had to file a claim yet, but they seem to get good customer reviews in that department as well (epinions.com).
Anyone currently with one of the big names (Allstate, Farmers, State Farm, etc.) would be doing themselves a favor by getting a Wawanesa quote. You will probably be shocked.[/quote]
All insurance are not equal, especially true when it comes to homeowners and liability. It’s not just about the premium you pay…It’s also about protection (legal and liability) when you get into a mess. Don’t know abou Wawanesa….Not saying against, not saying for. BUT, never underinsure and go cheap, especially if you have things to lose. A big insurance company with a big legal team goes a long way if you accidently smack into someone else’s car going 5mph, and the person hires a slimy PIL.
