I could support a statement such as “let’s keep the religious talk to a minimum,” but that’s not what you said.
You said “can the recent off topic posts bashing faith/Christianity come to an end please?” That implies that the “negative, opinionated viewpoints” come from the posters doing the “bashing.”
I just wanted to point out that the “agression” is usually instigated by posters who use their religious faith as a “weapon.”
Conversations grow organically. How do you expect people to respond when a poster comes in and says “buy, buy, buy”? Granted, the poster’s only selling his ideas but when people disagree, they are entitled to say bull.
Like I said, religion is like Real Estate. If a poster came in here selling an overpriced house, I’m sure he’ll get what he asked for.
