Recently CalTrans has been trying out new ways of shaving the surface of highways to minimize noise. I’m pretty sure that’s what they’ve been doing these past couple months along the 5 in North Country. Looks like the concrete has been shaved clean, and it feels like a smoother ride. Not sure how much it helps with noise though.
