Pretty good analysis/advice davelj. I would only add that it’s probably not strictly prostitution per se for Elin – she probably does put value on an outcome that keeps the family together.
Now, if that outcome is just completely unlikely, or completely unlikely with all parties happy for the mid/long term, then yeah I guess she should cut bait.
