Pit bull websites insist it’s not the breed it the owner. I have no experience, but they reference the little rascals dog and state historical pit bulls wee Americas family dog a long time ago but fell out of favor. I’m willing to be persuade pit bulls are no more dangerous than other dogs but it’s going to be an uphill battle. Their pr is so bad! Also http://www.dogsbite.org is pretty persuasive. Clearly though dog owners need to be required to have insurance and I’d bet pit bull rates would be like teen drivers insurance
