I think you have it wrong.
During the boom, the Realtors were the pimps (albeit incompetent ones) and the whores were the people who traded their financial freedom for granite counters in Riverside County.
I am lucky that of all my buyers, I am aware of only one (a married couple) who is now upside down.
They are not terribly upside down but we may end up doing a short sale because they are splitting up.
That is the kind of thing that causes me to lose sleep at night.
I am glad I was late to the agent party.
