Our neighbors recently removed their pool and built an addition on the area where the pool was. Because they were doing the addition, they couldn’t just fill the pool, they had to remove it, and then add layers of dirt compacting as they went. I believe the bid was originally about $35k to remove and fill. But when they removed the pool, they found that much of the dirt around the pool was poor quality fill, and so they had to take out more than originally planned. In the end I think it was about $50k to have this done.
