Thanks! You hit the nail on the head. That’s the main driver for our purchase.[/quote]
Hey vonbeeler, I remember you. I have to say I wonder why you’re here. Why squander precious quality time with us losers? It would make more sense to me if your were a long time member of the community, but you’re fairly new. If I were settled into my nice new shiny place that I loved, the last thing I’d do is watch the market and follow RE blogs. I guess you can count me in the ignorance is bliss club.
Back to the topic at hand, I don’t think anybody on this thread was searching for negatives. The OP admitted they were stretching themselves and folks were trying to help assess exactly how far that might be (as in too far because that’s all that matters). It wasn’t until fairly late in the thread that we even got to what the true DTI was. I assure you that if this guy’s salary was $95K a year, it would be a big mistake. At what it actually is, not as bad, but still worthy of some serious introspection.
Nobody told him it wasn’t the time to buy or that he should wait, rather some simply suggested he might want to seek something more modest (which would still be pretty damn nice, btw). What’s wrong with that, exactly?
