Maybe we should just rent for the first couple of years of school in the general area we want to buy….especially if we feel it’s a big compromise in either commute or schools or home size or age (translates from price)…. to see if we really like it…. I don’t think prices are going up any time soon, and the rates won’t be go up much either….
I am inclined towards a short commute, but damn, I’d hate to buy a larger condo or apt. in UTC. there are not that many choices of 3+ bdr. I lived in the area for a few years and they are so not worth it in terms of construction (but worth it in terms of location)….I guess I’ll look more into UC beside UTC. Clairemont -I think many are just too old – more than 20 years old, no matter how well patched and updated. Size – not a major problem – single level helps a lot of course.
