[quote=markmax33] . . . The economy is an EXTREMELY easy fix. We spent 1.5 Trillion dollars on national offense last year. We have 900 bases in 130+ countries. We’ve had 50,000+ troops in Germany and Korea feeding those economies for years and proping up those economies. The second you slash national offense and bring home 100,000 troops they start spending their $150,000 salaries at home and you see an economic boost. Next you start cutting programs that are obviously failing, which is the majority of them. My Dad owns a farm in Missouri and USA pays him $40,000 a year NOT to grow anything and let the land sit. Isn’t that crazy? I can go on and on. Your tax money at waste. Imagine we start slashing these wasteful programs and we lower your tax rate and balance the budget and you have more money to spend because your tax rate drops 5%. That is a true stimulus, not taking tax money, spinning it around DC, wasting 50% of it paying GOV fat cat salaries and then providing a bailout to the banks, or fake bailouts to the people owning housing that don’t work. In his own words:
Lol, markmax33, I just watched this video and was VERY impressed! I don’t watch TV or get the paper so was unfamiliar with Ron Paul until I saw this thread. Even though I’m not sure how certain programs can be administered with the decimation of those cabinet departments, I DO like RP’s idea of bringing the troops home and spending government $$ right here at home where it belongs, instead of overseas.
If I ever decide to run for something “local,” (as I had been encouraged to do in the past) would you be interested in acting as my “campaign mgr?” :=]
