Lets say that for the sake of argument that being gay is a “problem”. Are people with equally severe “problems” not to be allowed to participate in marriage? Your husband and you had the correct genitalia but you couldn’t do “marriage” and “Family” justice by many standards, divorce either. It was probably a discernible eventuality to many people. Should you have been stopped from sullying up the image of “marriage” for my children? I only want my children to see people who live happily ever after get married. They are in fact confused by single parenthood, because it is not what they are used to. Of course we explain to them that there are different ways to conduct family relationships.
Above all I want might children to be prepared for reality and homosexuality is not going away. We can not be sure which child will experience a degree of sexuality confusion or outright homosexuality, we might be able to affect how they go through it. I think you are getting negative feedback because people view your ideals as more dangerous than sexuality. Many people know youngsters who have suffered or even committed suicide over sexuality issues or been beaten for it, because of intolerance and ignorance.
