Many perpetrators scammed their own family members, life long friends, church members and coworkers who held them in high esteem. They fostered friendships for only one purpose and that was to scam them out of everything they owned. When investors wanted out or questioned them, they silenced them immediately. It took only one transaction done by Stonewood before they had complete control over their investors’ finances. Many were not in any position to argue. Many investors are still refusing that they could have been used in an elaborate scam by people they trusted.
