Social infrastructure includes education, SS, Medicare, unemployment, etc. Ever see what happens in countries where there is no social safety net? Think the negative effects are isolated to the poor? The primary beneficiaries of “welfare” are the rich (and middle/upper-middle class folks) who get to move through society without bodyguards, armored cars, etc. and who don’t have to live in walled fortresses.
