That all sounds wonderful but I have no desire to do that more than 2 or 3 times a year and I can afford to get on a plane or drive to do it. Where do you go for sushi? Life is all about choices and you have made yours. If you are happy there, great! I just wonder why you are still hanging out on this blog and pining for the SoCal lifestyle.
The OP should make their own. With a 200K income, he/she can easily afford a very nice lifestyle in SD if that is what he/she wants.
