Thank you. Can we pleeeeaase stop calling this a healthCARE bill. It is INSURANCE.
While ideally this country should provide healthCARE for its citizens, as they do in Europe or Canada, this bill is NOT like what those countries have. People in Canada and Europe are not forced to buy insurance. Sure. They probably pay for it through taxes. BUT, they are not paying an insurance company! Insurance companies are private business entities for PROFIT.
This just frustrates the hell out of me. That’s what should be discussed, how we have a middleman (insurance companies) assisted by our government to enforce purchase so they can provide healthcare. We won’t even address what kind of healthcare you will get. That’s a whole other issue.[/quote]
I would have supported a bill supporting a health savings bill, where one saves for medical needs, and for which certain critical treatments are negotiated. Well, I guess we suck as a nation at saving, so that probably won’t work.
