Well is relative. healthwise, probably fine. But don’t be surprised if their margins are getting squeezed. QC traditionally has been a high-end chip supplier. I would not be surprised if their seeing erosion in their margins because of the increasingly large competitor set and the squeeze phone manu. are putting to drive down costs.
There’s no question their processors are high end. But the question is whether these phone manufacturers are pinning QC against others that offer inferior products at reduced costs, and whether QC actually has to be more competitive on pricing now that it use to be.
You can only guess a this, by hints of what they are trying to do. Branching out into netbooks and playing in chip areas where traditionally margins are lower…Interesting times i can say. If you start seein a proliferation of their higher end chips in traditionally lower-tier phone manufacturer, something has happened.
