I’ve never really understood Costco and the legion of Costco fanatics.
It confuses me on many levels. We’ve had a free membership (given to us) for over a decade now and we’ve probably been in Costco five to ten times.
First, with just my wife and I at home buying in bulk is a huge waste of money. Sure the price per unit is lower, but we’d throw out most of it. I guess if you have a large family Costco may make sense. But I also can’t help but feel large containers contribute to overeating.
Second, I’m pretty particular about exactly what I buy (purchase after oodles of research) so getting a great deal on whatever random TV they have in stock doesn’t appeal to me much. If it isn’t the exact one I wanted, then the great deal would still leave me less than satisfied.
Third is the checkout line. I’ve never been in there when it didn’t feel like an overcrowded swap meet up by the checkout stands. Just pandemonium with a lot of wasted time. I want to zip in and zip out.
It may work for big families….other than that it leaves a big question mark above my head.
