Unfortunately most people in our society cannot control themselves. They have a hard time controlling spending, drinking, and a myriad of other vices.
As clear as a demonstration that we have seen with easy credit, given enough rope, the majority of people in our society hang themselves… credit card purchases, home purchases, refinances to buy more crap… clearly we just cannot control ourselves… Yes there are some people that have self control.. However they are by far the minority.
Accessibility to vices is simply not healthy. An example is internet porn. Talk about the white elephant in the room huh? Anyone who thinks this is harmless hasn’t a clue about how much damage this has caused, is causing and will casue in the future to our society.
I know that it is not the same a smoking pot. In my youth I had plenty of experiences with pot and it is a gateway drug. I don’t condone telling anyone what to do however making it legal is something that I do not feel would be beneficial to our society.
Raising kids is hard enough without having easy (and possibly legal) access to vices that they simply should not be exposed to.
