Is it right under the toilet? If so, it could be as simple as the wax seal around the toilet is bad (or getting bad). It’s not that hard to replace that yourself…Two bolts off of the toilet, disconnect water line, lift toilet, replace seal, and put toilet back on…(It’s kinda a sticky/gross job though).
