Interesting. Must be specific to Sweetwater Union High. From what I heard, there are districts in California (particularly the “elite” ones; not sure about San Dieguito or Poway) that do things very differently. Some districts actually do random residency checks, they send inspectors in the evenings to verify that students live where they say they live … anyone found to be faking residence is promptly expelled.
