I’m kinda in the creep category and against my better judgement I’ll play along (even though HLS and SD will punk me in sidebar e-mails for it). Don’t confuse the advice we menfolk give each other with Misogyny. We don’t hate women, we can think of no better way to spend an hour than under the sheets than with one. It’s the other 23 hours that drive us insane. Most of us are secretly angry that we aren’t homosexuals, how simple life would be if we were not afflicted with the exclusive sexual attraction to females. But most of us (myself included) are at the mercy of women in this one area. The reality is that men do not feel love the way women do, men are only romantic becuase it is in their best interests. Men do not go to Tiffanys because they think it will make the woman happy, they do it because they know the little blue box is an aphrodisiac (tip: any of you husbands need a last minute x-mas idea, go blue).
The reality is that most of the piggy’s are men, most are faithful, hard working, intelligent and almost nerdy ( but in a stylish way), men. And many have a woman who rules the roost without regard to their man. Some have equal partnerships, but they don’t come here asking for advice, it’s the guys who are being pushed around in trade for sex that come here. The guys who support “stay at home moms” who know they will get slaughtered in court and they want to be good fathers so they just trod along and do what she says. We are unique fraternity, we support each other, we feel for each other because even those who have risen above it, still remember what is was like. We feel for those guys and we want to help just like veterans of a war are bonded forever, married men and formerly married men share a common bondage, we defend them like we would a little brother on the playground. Women on the other hand compete with each other using yardsticks such as granite counters and travertine floors, men are just casualties in their war.
It’s late, any of the regulars know that means I’m near the end of the bottle (a wonderful and spicy sub $10 napa cab, trinity oaks, high marks for cheap swill) so I’ll end my diatribe because I have important football games to watch tomorrow. I apologize for the insults if any of my words were taken as such, enjoy your date tomorrow but be wary of any man who would go on a date during the sixteenth week of the season with most of the wildcard spots up in the air.
