If govt hadnt intervened prices would have been hit harder but I had every expectation they would do whatever they could to prevent a melt down. I’d say they have been pretty successful and it looks like they are winning the war to me. I also beleive while some areas would have been hit harder without gov’t intervention other areas would have been more insulated than others -this being one of them. Not free from problems but hit less hard than others.
To your previous comment is it not possible that one area will get more desireable relative to others? That over time areas will improve while others falter. Rome fell as did Detroit. No one cared about Texas until they found oil there. and yes SoCal has become more desireable relative to other parts of the country than it was previously.
