If all you want to do is word/excel, watching videos/DVDs, music and surfing the net then you may want to consider a 10″ netbook instead. I bought a Asus EEE 1000HA recently and could not be happier. At 3.2lbs it is an absolute joy to cart around when travelling and the Atom processor is much faster than I expected. Not to mention the 1000HA gives an astounding 5 hrs of battery life on a single charge which makes a huge difference on the road.
