I’d second penasquitos canyon, maybe you have run there?
Tecolote Canyon, Possibly the most accessible on surface streets from where you could rent a bike…not sure.
Sycamore canyon, Mission Trails,
Kayaking is really neat…if mountain biking isn’t it, you might try that…easy to rent right on the water.
