I’d like to see someone do a chart of monthly sales in dollars (inflation adjusted, perhaps.), rather than housing units, going back to 2001 or so.
Sure, we might be selling more houses, but has the size of the market – the number of dollars spent – actually gone up or down ?
Easy to do – just multiply average x # of sales.
