I would add that you may want to call either a contractor or an engineering services company to give you thier take on it. Additionally have your agent ask the listing agent for plans or any documentation about the home.
A general physical inspection is always recommended and you SHOULD do one. However, in light the particular concerns you brought up, I am not so sure a general physical inspector will be able to address them properly.
Agreed with sdr, when spending a few hundred thousand, don’t skimp on a few hundred bucks.
